Interested in cultivating and perfecting effective science communication strategies? Join the Sloan Scholars Mentoring Network on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 1 pm ET for a complimentary three-hour live workshop hosted in conjunction with the Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science of Stony Brook University.
This Alan Alda Online virtual workshop titled The Essentials, utilizes theatre-based techniques and creative messaging strategies as tools to develop effective science communication skills. The workshop will focus on how to deconstruct esoteric language while centering comprehension and clarity to favor audiences and readers. This workshop is open to all Sloan Scholars in any discipline or career field. Current Sloan Scholar graduate students are eligible to apply with the understanding that MPHD alumni will be prioritized. Graduates of this workshop will be eligible for future Alan Alda Online Advanced Modules, targeting more specific science communication issues.
